Grupo de Teatro Indigo proudly presents Calavera con Calavera, an original Day of the Dead musical that brings to life the traditions and vibrant spirit of this timeless celebration. Written by Eddie Gonzalez, and directed by Sureya Mir, the production blends storytelling, music, and dance into a theatrical experience that honors heritage while exploring the universal themes of family, love, and remembrance.  Set at Hacienda El Calvario, the story follows Timoteo Burgos, a man of strong traditions who reflects on his life and family during their Día de los Muertos gathering.  Alongside him, the Burgos family navigates joy, conflict, and reconciliation, as ancestral spirits join them for a single night where life and death meet.  The performance highlights the rich symbolism of the altar de muertos, including marigolds, sugar skulls, pan de muerto, and offerings that guide the souls of the departed. La Catrina, an iconic figure of Mexican culture, brings humor and wisdom through playful calaveritas literarias, offering insight into the meaning of the celebration.  With traditional music, folkloric dance, and stunning visuals, Calavera con Calavera is more than a play—it is a cultural journey that educates, entertains, anduplifts. A moving tribute that proves love never dies.
