The Texas Medical Center Orchestra’s Voices of Resilience concert dives deep into the pressing issues of homelessness and mental illness, particularly among veterans. This poignant evening unfolds with the world premiere of Lost Child by Max Viventz, a composition that captures the emotional journey of those who have faced the harsh realities of life.

Accompanying this powerful narrative is A Soldier's Tale: From Glory to Homelessness to Healing, a dramatic work penned by TMCO’s artistic director, Libi Lebel. Narrated by the talented Randall Packer, the piece sheds light on the struggles and triumphs of veterans, illustrating the delicate balance between glory and hardship.

The program further enriches with selections from Peter Boyer, including Fanfare for Tomorrow, Coming Home, and The Journey Within, as well as Michael Gott’s stirring performances of I’m Not Home, You’ll Never Walk Alone, and Love Can Move the World. Each selection interweaves to create a tapestry of sound that uplifts and inspires.

Concluding the concert is Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, a masterful exploration of fate versus free will, echoing the themes of resilience and hope that permeate the evening.
