The Texas Medical Center Orchestra’s (TMCO) From Darkness to Light concert marks a significant milestone as TMCO celebrates 25 years of musical excellence and resilience. This concert reflects on their journey through challenges and triumphs, illuminating the power of music to inspire hope and transformation.
The evening opens with Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64. TMCO is thrilled to feature as their soloist Dr. Mann-Wen Lo of the University of Houston's Moores School of Music, who will bring Mendelssohn's vision to life with remarkable artistry.
Following this powerful concerto, the orchestra will present Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, a monumental work that traverses a wide emotional landscape, from the depths of despair to the heights of joy. This symphony, with its iconic Adagietto, reflects the struggles and triumphs of the human spirit, making it a fitting tribute to our 25 years of dedication to the community and the arts.
